Link Exchange

Links

The way to rank high on search engines has, and always will be through the links pointing to your website. The more links you have that point to your website, the better ranking you will get. Not only links to your site, but links with the anchor text reflecting the keywords you want to rank for. For instance, you can post a link to my website: http://www.prorarity.com/ but, when you post a link to my site that merely looks like the one showed above, search engines will not really know what keyword(s) to rank my site for. In order to show this to search engines, you must make a link like this: Web Design. The link still points to my site, but it doesn’t say “http://www.prorarity.com”, it says “Web Design.” This tells search engines that my website must have something to do with web design, so they will give me higher ranking for that keyword.

That’s really cool, but the real problem is actually getting more links to your site! How do you do this? Well, there are many ways that I have tried to explain in past articles, but one of the main ones is link exchange. Link exchange is when one finds another site that may be related to his/her site, and asks them to post a link to his/her site with the anchor text he/she desires. In exchange for this, he/she will post a link to the site in question with its desired anchor text.

One thing you will need to watch out for is places that offer automatic link exchange. These places, while they may have proper motives, usually attract spam. Google does not like seeing your site’s link on spam websites, and visa versa. So, I would not recommend using automatic link exchange.

The best way to do link exchange is on your own. I mean actually searching for good sites to link to, and start sending emails, asking for links. Though it’s more time consuming, it’s much better! You may not want to link to direct competitors, but you will probably want to link to companies that are related to yours in some way. Though you can link to companies unique to yours, it’s always better to provide your internet viewers with more helpful links that will apply to them.

Yes, it will take lots of time and energy, but it is absolutely necessary to get lots of links to your site – that is, if you want high ranking.
