Now that Google is releasing its new version (Google Caffeine), website owners must be ready to make changes to their site. One of these changes is load time. This is great for people who do a lot of searching on Google, but for website owners, it may not be too exciting. It gives a free analysis of your website load time.

While WebSiteOptimization.com gives you an idea of how fast your website loads, it doesn’t fix the problem! Optimizing your site for optimal speed can be very tricky. It involves compressing images, flash, and yes, even the code. While this is very hard, it can be done. If you are interested in optimizing your website yourself, I would recommend trying to keep the fewest possible images on your site, and making the ones you keep as small as you can get away with. The same thing applies to flash on your site. Try to avoid rollover images as much as possible. And avoid using too many external scripts/style sheets for your pages. These are just some of the many things to watch out for when optimizing your site’s speed.
